HTS Tariff Code Lookup API | Terms of Use

Effective Date: 2026-03-20

Data Accuracy

This API provides tariff classification and duty rate information sourced from official government tariff schedules (US Harmonized Tariff Schedule and EU TARIC). Duty rates and classifications are informational only and do not constitute legal or customs advice. Tariff data may not reflect the most recent amendments or special trade measures. Users are responsible for verifying rates with the relevant customs authority before use in official import declarations.

Service Availability

The API is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or uptime. Maintenance windows, upstream data source outages, or infrastructure issues may temporarily affect service. Rate limits and API call quotas are enforced per subscription plan; exceeding your quota will result in request rejection (HTTP 429) until the next billing cycle.

Acceptable Use

You may use the API to look up tariff codes and duty rates for your own products, applications, and internal tools. The following uses are prohibited:

  • Systematic extraction or scraping of entire tariff databases
  • Reselling raw API data as a competing data product
  • Automated bulk extraction designed to replicate the underlying dataset
  • Any use that intentionally degrades service for other subscribers

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate API access for any account found to be in violation of these terms or engaged in abusive usage patterns, with or without prior notice.

Data Retention

The API does not store user search queries or results beyond standard server access logs retained for operational monitoring. No personal data is collected through API requests beyond what is provided by the RapidAPI gateway (subscriber identity for billing purposes).

Limitation of Liability

The API and its data are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of or inability to use the API, including but not limited to incorrect duty rate calculations, misclassification of goods, or customs penalties.

Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the API after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
